A few days ago, the U.S. Immigration Service (USCIS) announced on its official website various statistical data of the third quarter of fiscal year 2,024 (i.e., from April 1, 2024 to June 30, 2,024) occupation immigration EB-5 investment immigration categories.
Data shows that in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2,024, the Immigration Bureau received a total of 264 I-526/E applications (investment immigration applications under the new law), a new low in the fiscal year.
It is worth mentioning that in the first quarter of fiscal year 2,024 (from October 1, 2023 to December 31st), the Immigration Bureau received a total of 581 I-526/E applications, and in the second quarter (from January 1, 2024 to March 31st), the Immigration Bureau received a total of 1,879 I-526/E applications, a new high in the fiscal year (the number of EB-5 deliveries in the second quarter of fiscal year 2,024 suddenly increased to 1,879).
According to industry insiders, the main reason for the decline in the number of applications may be due to two factors:
01. Since April 1st, the U.S. Immigration Bureau has implemented various new regulations on price hikes, which led to many investors rushing to submit cases in March, which is also an important reason for the outbreak of case delivery data in the second quarter;
02. The foreign exchange control is more strict, resulting in a longer exchange cycle for investors.
Up to now, according to the U.S. immigration schedule in September 2024, the three types of reserved visa projects in the EB-5 regional center are still in a state of no scheduling. For applicants in mainland China, except for the EB-5 regional center reserved visa project, all other professional immigrant visa categories are in the scheduling state; The scheduling period is less than 2~3 years, and more than 5~6 years. It has to be said that for people and families who are currently planning to immigrate to the United States, this is an important reason for snapping up three types of visa reservation projects in the EB-5 regional center under the new law.
At present, the consensus in the industry is that although the EB-5 visa reservation project under the new deal has not been scheduled, with the increase of the number of applicants, if the annual application is greater than the quota of reserved visas, the "VIP window" may also be scheduled in the future. For investors who want to immigrate to the United States through investment immigration, they should choose the non scheduled projects under the new EB-5 bill as soon as possible, apply for the three Reserved categories in the new law, and seize the opportunity to get a green card quickly.
